Merry, Merry Not Contrary
Silverdale WA
Our clients came to us with a clear vision for their kitchen: white oak cabinetry, black hardware, and—most importantly—soapstone countertops. From there, we reworked the main floor’s awkward angles, opening closed-off areas and enlarging the kitchen to create a more connected and welcoming flow. Generous flat-top arched doorways now frame views between spaces, adding both softness and architectural interest.
As the design evolved, a scenic landscape mural became the heart of the aesthetic, bringing color, charm, and personality to the space. The long kitchen is anchored by a generous island featuring stunning “Dark Julia” soapstone with vibrant emerald veining, and is bookended by a cozy dining banquette on one end and a sunny window seat on the other.
Whimsical flower cabinet knobs, wabi-sabi backsplash tile, mixed cabinet finishes, open shelving, layered lighting, and comfortable upholstered seating complete the warm, character-filled space. We were absolutely delighted with the final result—and so were our clients.
